What do you mean by "heart healthy" breakfasts?
  • "Healthy Heart" -- no eggs or meat

Awake to the tempting aroma of baking bread and join your
host and other guests to indulge in a full breakfast of fresh fruit,
a rotating selection of hot "stick to your ribs" cereals plus delicious
homemade yeast and sweet breads along with coffee, tea, hot
chocolate and a variety of juices.  All our breakfasts are "heart-
healthy," low cholesterol and delicious!  We hope you'll enjoy our
homemade, special recipe, nuts and seeds granola.

What is the recipe for the homemade granola you serve?

TOOTIE'S GRANOLA

2 cups oatmeal
1 cup wheat germ (optional)
1 cup coconut
1 cup sunflower seeds (raw, unsalted)
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup honey
1/2 cup water
1 cup nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans) any one cup of one type of nut or a mix of all!

Mix all dry ingredients well. Combine warm water, oil, honey and vanilla. Pour over dry ingredients and stir. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, stirring every ten minutes to prevent over-browning on top. For a moist granola (like ours) bake in a deep pan, with granola about 2 inches thick. Store in a tightly-sealed container.

NOTE: If it looks done it is probably too done ... Normally the first time one make it, it is cooked too much and is dry rather than moist. It's still good, but better moist.
